It’s time to rethink the pearl. Like the goody-goody saddle-shoe and poodle skirt wearing Sandy at the start of Grease to the Sandy at the end of the film, dressed in all black, red pumps, blow-out hair and scarlet lips; pearls have transformed themselves from sweet to salty. Designers and brands are taking them to new heights in the best way possible. Look and see ways to style this trend that doesn’t include jewelry.
The ultimate combination of classy and chic all rolled into one luscious leather jacket. Rebecca Minkoff’s new fall arrival, might just be the “it coat” for fall and is a defining piece of what it means to say “edgy pearls.”

Other designers have hit the ball out of the park with pearl embellishments, such as Chanel with their eyewear and Sergio Rossi’s faux pearl black suede booties. However, Rebecca Minkoff takes the cake this fall with her careful and concentrated efforts with not only her moto jacket but this crossbody which brings a new meaning to Jackie O’s saying, “pearls are always appropriate.”
