From platform shoes to overalls, the ’90s are making a return in fashion. While we might be reaching the middle of this decade, it is safe to say that trends are being taken from the past for this fall. It started slowly with popularity of the crop top and grunge combat boots, but before we go back to sporting chokers again, let’s fill you in on a trend that is worth trying out—the leather bucket bag. With household name designers such as Marc Jacobs, Chloé and Proenza Schouler taking the plunge with this style, why not give it a try?
First up is Rebecca Minkoff’s Fiona Shoulder Bag in Burgundy. The bag, offered in four colors, was exclusively created by the designer for Bloomingdale’s. The metal hardware contrasted with the supple leather creates a casual chic vibe.
Next is See by Chloé’s Small Vicki Leather Shoulder Bag in Bamboo. The pop of mustard yellow is just what is in order for autumn. Even better is its versatility to become a crossbody when needed, a meeting of modern and vintage.
The ‘90s might have ended almost 15 years ago, but the fashion of the decade still lives on, take this accessory advice so your wardrobe doesn’t end up a thing of the past. –Cate Jensen
