Destination: Arielle Weinberg started a career in the perfume industry in New York City after graduation, and her time and experience there inspired her to bring a niche fragrance store to our area. Arielle Shoshana Scented Luxuries is NoVA’s first specialty scent shop located in the lively Mosaic District near the new Madewell and Kendra Scott boutiques.
Atmosphere: The store has a very clean and polished feel with wood accents and modern lighting. Weinberg explains that half of her clientele at perfume shops in NYC were men, which is why she chose a neutral atmosphere for her store. “Instead of sorting by brand, we have [the fragrances] by category, so if someone knows they usually gravitate toward sweet or fresh, they can start in that section.”
Bread and Butter: Most of the fragrances at Arielle Shoshana are from American or French brands, with one line imported from India. Among the customers’ favorites are Maison Francis Kurkdjian’s Aqua Universalis and Juliette Has a Gun’s Lady Vengeance.
Sweet Surprises: There is a great selection of body products, candles, diffusers and even scented bubbles. Compagnie de Provence reed diffusers are another customer preference.
Fiercest Fan: Men and women who wish to add uncommon, great-smelling scents to their fragrance collections. Shoppers can also expect to find holiday-centric scents and sets this season at the store.
Blows to Budget: Fragrances range from $50-$300, and body products range from $5.50-$60.
