At this point, we all look at riding the Metro as a necessary evil and a slightly better alternative to the hell that is the NoVA commute. But instead of using it as a time to catch up on podcasts, sleep or the next chapter of your book, there may be a silver lining to riding the Silver line. Urban Pop is a shopping experience that features pop-ups from restaurants, clothing brands and more. Located on the P1/Metro level of the Wiehle-Reston East station, it boasts an enviable selection of books from Scrawl, graphic leggings and tees from Arthur Christine and tasty food items from Farm 2 Carb for customers to browse.
Each space has a month-to-month lease, so the marketplace is ever-evolving. Currently, vendors are open weekdays from 3-8 p.m. (though some stands seem to have special hours, so it may be best to contact them directly).
Urban Pop will be launching a second phase (Urban Pop Active) soon. Check the website for updates and details.
