Darling Deals at Dharma & Leopold’s

Infant Wool Coat & Hat Ensemble (Hartstrings)
Good morning, shoppers! It’s Thursday — yay! That means we’re getting closer to the weekend and all of those amazing Columbus Day sales. More on those tomorrow because there is another fun thing to celebrate today: sweet sale news from Gainesville’s darling Dharma & Leopold’s.
To make room for holiday merchandise (already!), the charming store has discounted all Halloween apparel and accessories for boys (12 months to 4T) and girls (12 months to 6X) 30 percent. You’ll also find fall apparel from Mim Pi and Biscotti at 30 percent off.
Speaking of holiday items, the store already has items in from Lemon Loves Lime, Letop and Hartstrings.
Also, a couple of in-store events, you may want to jot down:
Oct. 11-15: Lemon Loves Lime and Hartstrings Spring/Summer 2011 Trunk Show (with 10 percent off spring orders)
Oct. 23 (2-5 p.m.): Prints & Polka Dots Keepsake Workshop — call the store to schedule an appointment or schedule one on the Prints & Polka Dots website
A Prints & Polka Dots Print is a custom ceramic plate (offered in a variety of colors and sizes) that preserves the impressions of a child’s hand or foot. Appointments usually lasts about 10 – 15 minutes. The impressions can be completed within a few minutes. Your Prints & Polka Dots Print will be ready to be displayed in your home in eight weeks.
Happy shopping!

PS. Don’t forget that today’s the last day to snag one serious car maintenance deal at Specialicious, and tomorrow is the last day of Valerianne’s Back to Home Sale (hoping I can stop by!).
PPS. I just have to give a shout-out to A Pea in the Pod. The store has become like my best friend during my pregnancy. While I’ve found better deals online and at discount places like Target on everyday duds, when it comes to something special, like those skinny Hudson maternity jeans that look exactly like your pre-prego ones or a dress for a wedding that makes you prouder than punch to rock that bump, there’s no place like A Pea in the Pod. The selection is incredible (the difference in the fabrics, alone, is very evident), and the customer service is top notch. Just yesterday, I received a handwritten thank-you letter from the manager “taking the time to let her help me through this special time in my life.”

So, I’ve finally made it back to the office and am planning to run some errands later that have been put off for way too long. Should you be ready to show retailers your love again, too, you’re in luck. A Supermodel’s Mission to Make Moms-to-Be Shine
Posted by The Editorial Desk / Monday, January 11th, 2010
Good afternoon, shoppers! As for those of you who are expecting a child, CONGRATULATIONS — not only on becoming a mom but for soon having a whole new slew of options available to you when it comes to maternity wear!
Supermodel mother-of-four Heidi Klum, well aware of the maternity options out there, has collaborated with A Pea in the Pod and Motherhood Maternity to create two new collections designed to make pregnant women look and feel fantastic. Klum says on her Web site, “The two collections are all about making pregnant women feel as great and fashionable as I did during my four pregnancies.”
The collection designed exclusively for A Pea in the Pod is called “Lavish” and is described as “a fashionable expression of everything you want to give to yourself and to the child growing with you.” Meanwhile, the less expensive Motherhood line, “Loved,” is described as “a celebration of style to match the abundance of love all around you and your baby.”
Both collections hit stores and the Web on Feb. 12.
To be among the first to preview the collection, sign up here.
Ps. Klum’s Project Runway buddy Tim Gunn will appear on How I Met Your Mother tonight, on CBS at 8 p.m.

Good morning, shoppers! Happy Friday!
As if we weren’t excited enough for the weekend already — time to sleep in, relax, get some sun, save big-time on some pretty new panties and shop sans taxes — the retail world continues to delight us all the more. Actually, it’s hard to know where to begin. I suppose I’ll start with the super news for the expectant set.
Two very talented designers, Cynthia Rowley and Nicole Richey, have teamed up with two of the best names in baby to offer new baby/maternity lines. Hooray by Cynthia Rowley, to become available in 155 Babies “R” Us stores and at babiesrus.com in September, is to include everything from “distinctive layette, playwear and bibs to perfectly patterned baby blankets and diaper bags” according to parent company Toys “R” Us.
Says Cynthia Rowley, “I’ve been dying to do baby clothes for a long time. … I just wanted to find the right partner. I think that baby clothes should be reasonably priced and accessible. People can’t believe the combination of the quality, the price and the style — it makes everything so easy.”
Meanwhile, Lionel Richie’s always stylin’ daughter, who has seen much success with her jewelry line, has designed a 14-piece capsule collection for the uber-stylish maternity store A Pea in the Pod. Available beginning today at A Pea in the Pod and Destination Maternity stores as well as online at apeainthepod.com and destinationmaternity.com, the Nicole collection oozes Richie’s coveted free-spirit, boho-fabulous style.
Remarks Richie on her new collection, “I hope that the ease and comfort of my designs will help expectant moms to look and feel amazing throughout their pregnancy.” (Comfort aside, her fun designs are enough to make this woman who is not expecting very envious of those who are.)
As for other exciting shopping news:
This weekend (10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday) brings the Third-Annual Middleburg Sidewalk Sale to downtown Middleburg, featuring lots of great discounts – like 75 percent off select items from White Bench, reduced prices on trinkets from Lou Lou’s, slashed prices on shoes from Tully Rector and more — plus, Project Runway star Wendy Pepper will open her studio for the public on Saturday to show off her many new and colorful designs.
If you head out west to Middleburg, perhaps you should make a pit stop in Leesburg. Check out this store our fashionable managing editor introduced me to yesterday. I can’t wait to visit! More on that when I do. I don’t know what I’m more excited to check out there: the clothes are the furniture! Have any of you been to Lucketts Store? I’d love to hear your thoughts.
As for amazing online sales, one that you won’t want to miss is the Friends & Family Sale at chickdowntown.com! Use code “FF25″ to save 25 percent site-wide until just before midnight on Sunday night.
And, finally, when it comes to exciting things in the beauty arena, you’ve just have to check out what Sephora is offering now!
Happy shopping! Have a wonderful weekend!
Fashionably Fierce Looks for Moms-to-Be
Posted by The Editorial Desk / Wednesday, May 13th, 2009
Good morning, shoppers! Today brings some fantastic news for any of you fashion-loving expectant moms out there! The clothing options available to you just got that much better — as if stores like Apple Seed and A Pea in the Pod didn’t already have enough amazing looks! (Hey, I drool over their displays, and the hubby and I aren’t busy painting a nursery right now.)
Thanks to perhaps the most celebrated designer to ever compete on Bravo’s Project Runway, looking great isn’t the only option when there’s a bun in the oven. Ladies, you can look fierce!
Say, “Hello!” to the the Fierce Mamas for Moody Mamas Collection by Christian Siriano, available at moodymamas.com!
The dresses are amazing as far as I’m concerned! I especially love this romantic fuschia number and that black knockout (pictured)!
What do you say? Do you have a favorite?
Any other maternity lines you’d recommend?
