Hello, Hello shoppers! It’s Devon once again stepping in for Natalie. While Natalie takes a little R&R and basks in the tropical sun, I’ll be here filling you in on the top shopping trends, news and sales for the rest of the week.
Well spring has finally arrived, and for our young fashionistas of NoVA that means it’s time to start planning for Prom. Want to make heads turn without busting the budget? I suggest heading over to Macys.com. There you’ll find a huge assortment of dresses and most are on sale! While you’re over there, check out this little number that is only $59.00. Not only does it have the hem length of the season, but it’s floral and has pockets! Dresses don’t get much more adorable than that. If you’re not going short, then you’re going super long with a flowy maxi dress. Maxi dresses are great because they have enough of a flirty casual air that they can be re-worn to all your summertime events.
So now that you have your dress, it’s time to move our attention to accessories. For those of you opting out of the standard satin and rhinestone combo and embracing the fresh spring trends, I recommend snatching up a clutch from local designer Brooke Galardi of Bee Gee Bags. This silk piece with the brilliant peacock feathers is gorgeous. With its neutral tones, you’ll be sure to use this piece over and over again.
As for shoes, I’d have to point you in the direction of Nordstrom.com. They’re currently having their online shoe clearance. They’ve marked down some hot heels up to 50-percent off! With so many items on sale, you’ll be sure to find the prefect option to your style.
Lastly, if you’re looking some for baubles to brighten your dress, check out the jewelry at Nordstrom.com in their ‘under $50′ section. They have a great selection of bright gems that will be the prefect finishing touch.
Now, for those of us who are a few years past our Prom days but still like to feel like an elegant young lady, head over to Neiman Marcus at Tysons Galleria on March 20 to get a chance to meet designer David Meister. Meister creates gorgeous gowns that can make any woman feel glamorous and enchanting. And, since you’ll already be there, I thought I’d mention that March 19 through the 20, during their Current Event, Neiman Marcus will be giving away a special tote designed by Elizabeth & James with any purchase of $350. For those who spend $500 or more, you’ll also receive an Elizabeth & James belt!
Happy shopping! I’ll see you all back here tomorrow to give you a weekend send off.

Good morning, shoppers! Happy Friday!
Ready for the snow? Whether you’re thrilled about the forecast or dreading it, chances are you’ll be spending a little more time than usual tucked inside your house this weekend. To help you from getting stir-crazy and eating a small country’s share of holiday cookies, what follows are a few of the super-fun finds I discovered on the Twittersphere, etc., this morning.
Just remember that random is not always bad.
The Great Eight of Fun Friday Finds:
1.) Fantastic gifts in the under-$100 category at neimanmarcus.com: Examples include the not-so-stylish, but super-functional Clocky (regularly $59, now 20 percent off), an alarm clock that lets you hit snooze once, but then, it’s all over … it jumps off of wherever it’s been sitting and rolls around all over the place, while beeping, until sleepyhead turns it off; and these handbag hangers ($28-$40, some now 20 percent off) that hook onto any table, preventing bar floor funk and the like from ruining fabulous accessories.
2.) Amazing prices on airfare to sunny spots like So-Cal and Florida: Examples found on twitter.com/dcfares include round-trip airfare from D.C. to West Palm Beach, January through March, at $169 (including taxes) and round-trip from D.C. to San Diego, January through March, for $216.
3.) Bargain boots just about everywhere: Places to check out include endless.com, which is now offering up to 45 percent off boots, shoes and accessories; Nordstrom and nordstrom.com, for lots of styles under $100; and Piperlime.com, which is also offering a bevy of boots for under $100.
4.) Flowers for less, now and in the future: 1800flowers.com is offering 15 percent off and a $15 savings pass to anyone places an order through Sunday and uses the code “GFT25″ at checkout.
5.) Serious sales at old standbys: Examples include up to 40-percent discounts on select items at Banana Republic, in stores and online; 20-percent savings on skincare and other beauty buys with code “DEC20″ at skinstore.com; and a buy one, get one for $10 deal on everything at Arden B.
6.) InStyle’s 100 Best Dresses of the Decade: Featuring party dress inspiration like I’ve never seen it before, this could keep you busy for hours.
7.) Good news for iPod shoppers: Beginning tomorrow in Wal-Mart stores, the 8GB iPod Nano will be reduced $5 and come with a $50 iTunes gift card — while supplies last through Dec. 24.
8.) Handbag Heaven: Check out the “It” bags on sale at Cusp and explore ebags.com, too, which is now offering a free second-day air shipping upgrade.
Enjoy! Stay safe on the roads and have a wonderful weekend!

Posted by The Editorial Desk / Wednesday, September 30th, 2009

"Bet You Can't Read My Mind" fitted v-neck tee, available exclusively at nordstrom.com/newmoon Oct. 1 and in Nordstrom stores Oct. 15 (Nordstrom)
Good morning, shoppers. I don’t know about you, but I’m a tad tired from the absolutely amazing U2 concert last night. Should you be in a similarly sleepy situation, and happen to be one of the millions of “Twilight” fans, good news: Nordstrom is giving you plenty of reasons to perk up!
In celebration of the super-highly-anticipated movie “The Twilight Saga: New Moon,” to debut Nov. 20, the store is launching an exclusive clothing and jewelry collection, inspired by the film!
Whether you’re behind ‘Team Edward’ or ‘Team Jacob,’ you should find just the perfect look to stylishly showcase your vampire or werewolf affinity. And that’s without breaking the bank. From the collection’s fitted screen tees, tanks, hoodies, dresses and jackets to its plaid tunics and jackets to its silver- and gold-plated fashion necklaces, earrings, bracelets and key fobs, prices range from just $32 to $58.
Ready for the best part of all of this? Though the ultra-cool items won’t hit Nordstrom stores until Oct. 15, pre-sale orders may be placed tomorrow, Oct. 1, here!
