Good morning, shoppers! Here’s hoping you all had a fabulous fall weekend despite the Redskins loss. Here’s also hoping you haven’t been staying up too late catching all of the TV premieres. And in case you’re wondering, no, I’m not flexing my mom skills a tad early; I’m simply looking out for your best interest. Trust me, you’re going to need your energy to make the most out of the stylish goodness that is All Access: Fashion, returning to Tysons Galleria this week, Sept. 30-Oct. 2.
The event is “designed to allow guests to witness the excitement and energy of the international collections at Tysons Galleria, shop the best of the Fall/Winter 2010 season, meet style icons and experience the frenzy usually reserved for fashion insiders during international fashion weeks.”
At any rate, just when I thought it couldn’t get much better than seeing Tim Gunn in the flesh last year, I learned that the legendary costume designer Patricia Field, responsible for the fabulous outfits on” Sex and the City” (the show and the movies) and “The Devil Wears Prada,” will be appearing at this year’s All Access: Fashion VIP fashion show on Friday, Oct. 1, at 7 p.m. The VIP show will feature Paul Sinclaire’s Fall/Winter womenswear collection, exclusively designed for Saks Fifth Avenue to benefit SOS Villages. (Seating is by invitation only; standing room is available.)
Other highlights of the three-day event include a lecture on “The New Rules of Engagement: Luxury 2.0″ featuring esteemed speakers from 7 for All Mankind, Saks, Ritz-Carlton and more on Thursday, Sept. 30, from 7-9 p.m., and fashion shows from 11 a.m.-8 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 2, highlighting designs from Nicole Miller, Karen Millen, Betsey Johnson and more.
There is also a lot to look forward to in stores — make that more than 50 in-store special experiences including book signings, trunk shows, wine tastings, designer appearances, etc. Plus, a portion of sales at participating retailers will benefit SOS Children’s Villages. Like last year, you’ll also find branded lounges offering complimentary couture experiences. And you will even gain a few sneak peeks of Spring/Summer 2011 apparel.

Ps. If you can’t wait to get your shop on, FYI today’s Specialicious deal comes from a true Vietnamese gem. Also, Body Elements just opened a new location in Vienna, featuring expanded services including personal training.

Perhaps I’m reading too much into this.
But media darling Present seems to be signaling a changing of the guard on their press page:

Granted, yours truly is relegated to the fourth position in the pantheon of local food critics.
But at least they bothered to spell my name right (can you here me knocking, Tom?).
