Let’s face it, even us iPhone- and BlackBerry-toting individuals can have trouble keeping up with all of the latest, hottest shopping news … especially during the sweet, sweet summertime! (Trust me, I know. I’m in sunny South Carolina as you read this.) So, below is my unofficial version of Cliffs Notes, to help catch you up to speed on all sorts of random retail goodness.
Okay, what to know now:
1.) Being born an identical twin of Megan Fox just wasn’t in the cards for us (boy, that would have made my hubby happy); yet, according to StoreAdore, at least we can wear the same jewelry.
2.) Miley Cyrus fans have a whole new reason to squeal with delight. The pop star has teamed up with Max Azria to create a fashion line for Wal-Mart. The items, each to cost under $20, are to hit stores in early August.
3.) The Renaissance Mayflower Hotel is the place to be on the evening of June 23, as CityShopGirl will be hosting a bash from 6 to 8 p.m., to include complimentary makeup application, hair styling, massage and more from area beauty experts! Loyal followers, RSVP to rsvp@cityshopgirl.com by June 20 to snag a spot at the soiree.
4.) For those of you who don’t want to buy Dad just any old tie: How about a tie that can hold (hide) his iPod? *Reminder: Stay tuned for lots of other cool gift ideas for your fantastic father from Susan Anspach next Friday.

6.) And, in case you ever find yourself feeling sorry for Ryan Seacrest because of his incredibly hectic schedule, you should just think of this video. Turns out he gets to keep all of the posh suits he dons on American Idol. No surprise, actually, as they’re custom made.

Seacrest’s Much Buzzed About Shirt

Hi there, shoppers! To help you break up your workday, I thought I’d turn your thoughts to American Idol‘s stylish host, the one and only Ryan Seacrest, for a sec. Love him or hate him, you’ve got to give it to the guy; he works about 23 hours a day — or at least it seems so — and it seems he’s a fan of local comical t-shirt company Crooked Monkey.
I was actually listening to his show on Hot 99.5 yesterday afternoon — on my way back from dropping off piles o’ magazines at the Dulles Expo Center for this weekend’s Women’s Show of Northern Virginia — when I heard him talking about it on air. He (or his coworker) even posted a photo of the shirt on his Twitter page as well as on ryanseacreast.com! It looks like you better place those orders for super-soft, super-funny Ts now — before the company can’t keep up with demand.
Speaking of Idol fashion, what did you think of Allison’s punk look this week? Think it was appropriate for a No Doubt song or ridiculous any way you look at it?
