Hello there, shoppers! Hoping to put a fresh face forward for fall? The Medical Spa at Nova is ready to help you do that, while saving you some serious dough.
Throughout the month of October, enjoy $50 OFF a 30-minute IPL treatment. Nova’s Sciton IPL can also treat rosacea, broken capillaries of the face and acne. For a limited time only, acne treatments will start at just $100 per session. Mention FALL IPL SPECIAL when booking to redeem the special offer. Call 703-554-1130 to book your appointment. (Some restrictions apply.)
But that’s not all that that’s happening this month at The Medical Spa at Nova. They’re hosting a very special soiree on Oct. 19, from 5:30-8 p.m., benefiting local breast cancer awareness organization The Tigerlily Foundation. Northern Virginia Magazine is proud to be the official media sponsor.
The “open spa” event will include demonstrations of various forms of massage, body wraps, facials and more — including some of the spa’s treatments especially suited for breast cancer survivors. Those who attend will be able to sample a few complimentary treatments and products during the reception (on a first-come, first-serve basis) and makeup demonstrations will be available thanks to Makeup Artistry by Tracie. Nova’s integrative medical team will also be in attendance and able to answer questions about treatments and services throughout the evening.
Party-goers will also enjoy wine tasting courtesy of Il Pioppo Wines and an assortment of hors d’oeuvres, desserts and refreshments provided by Windows Catering, Chantel’s Bakery, The Chocolate Chick, Kendra’s Cookies, Allergan and Tea Forte. Plus, vendor tables (WD Designs Awareness Jewelry, The Dandelion Patch, Beijo Bags, Il Pioppo Wines, etc.) will be scattered throughout the soiree, selling products ranging from fine jewelry to stationery, with a portion of sales proceeds to benefit Tigerlily; and there will be a silent auction and raffle including spa treatments and beauty products, dinner certificates, golf rounds, tailgate parties and more.
Admission is $20 (breast cancer survivors are invited to attend free of charge), with all proceeds benefiting Tigerlily.
Happy shopping!

Gearing Up Now for Super-shopping This Thursday

Good morning, shoppers! I hope you all had a lovely holiday weekend. Did you bag a lot of bargains?! If you’re like me and were too busy to, fortunately there are still some amazing sales going on today.
For starters, you can still save 50 to 70 percent off original prices on sale items at BCBG, receive $10 off Wexler products at bathandbodyworks.com and take advantage of Neiman Marcus‘ online Spend More, Save More Bedding Event plus the store’s legendary Beauty Event, which is going on online now through Sept. 21 and is to run in stores Sept. 10 through Sept. 20.
And, besides, this Thursday promises to be a shopper’s dream. First of all, as many of you I’m sure are already aware, Thursday, Sept. 10, has been declared Fashion’s Night Out, in a global effort to promote retail, restore consumer confidence and celebrate fashion. While New York City is leading the way here in the States, several stores in our area are jumping into the action as well.
In MidCity D.C., a whole host of stores will be open until 11 p.m.; all Neiman Marcus stores are promising designer appearances and selling an exlusive $30 Fashion’s Night Out t-shirt of which 40 percent of proceeds will support the September 11 Memorial and Museum; and various Old Town Alexandria stores are to be participating as well, including Treat, which, is to offer a gift with purchase, treats and bubbly according to Maurisa Potts, an executive board member of the Greater Washington Fashion Chamber of Commerce (GWFCC). The GWFCC is spearheading the local effort.
And, in Reston, a very special soiree is to take place on Thursday evening at The Dandelion Patch. From 7:30 to 9:30 p.m., the store will welcome the area’s betrothed couples to unwind, network and make friends with fellow engaged couples. Attendees may sip champagne, indulge in chocolate-covered delights thanks to The Chocolate Chick, take advantage of special discounts and chat with the Doreen Tisone, editor of Engaged Magazine, who will be on hand to distribute hot-off-the-press editions of the glossy.
Forget TGIF, it will be TGIT!

Good morning, shoppers! And, Happy Hump Day! Just don’t have too happy of a time tonight, ladies — or next Wednesday for that matter — as Thursday has become the night for celebrating.
First of all, Eyetopia, in Historic Leesburg’s East Village, is hosting a special Ladies’ Night soiree tomorrow evening from 6 to 9 p.m. Featuring new jewelry, including items from John Medeiros, and eyewear for shoppers to survey, the store will also treat guests to blood orange mimosas, some light munchies, live music and door prizes. What’s more, there is a free gift with each purchase, and 10 percent of all sales will benefit the Susan G. Koman Breast Cancer 3-day Walk.
And, next Thursday, July 23, is dedicated to celebrated NoVA women as well thanks to The Dandelion Patch. The Reston store, located at Reston Town Center, is hosting a Girl’s Night Out from 7 to 9 p.m., featuring Rebekah Pierce, author of “Sex, Lies and Shoeboxes”! Yet that’s not all that’s in store for those who attend. Shoppers will enjoy mini treatments from Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spa, a chocolate fountain from The Chocolate Chick, bubbly and 20 percent off store-wide! To attend, RSVP to reston@thedandelionpatch.com.
