Indian Markets
May 8, 12, 15. 10a.m. – 12p.m. Washington Post columnist Monica Bhide, an Indian-born food writer and cookbook author, will discuss spices, rice, frozen and packaged Indian foods, chutneys, pickles, and breads that can be discovered in aisles of Indian grocery stores. After exploring a grocery store, enjoy traditional Indian dishes such as tandoori naan, rice pilaf, tandoori chicken, saag paneer, and mint lassis. The tour, presented by the Smithsonian Resident Associate Program, meets at Ginger & Spice Market, 6548A Little River Turnpike, Alexandria.
