Even on a short journey just one an hour away, the best travel advice is simple: keep your car gassed and make sure you have a good spare. Also, AAA doesn’t hurt. These are important under any driving circumstances, but gas stations and in non-metropolitan areas in the Blue Ridge or Monticello Trails are few and far between. It’s always better to be safe than sorry.
