These are our March 2017 picks for new media: music, movies, books and games.
Divide
Download March 3
“Castle on a Hill” and “Shape of You” singer Ed Sheeran took to Twitter on Jan. 12 to announce the release of his next album, ÷. Divide follows 2011’s + and 2014’s X, has a track list of 16 songs and is available for preorder.
All Grown Up
On shelves March 7
New York Times best-selling author Jami Attenberg brings us the tale some of us may relate to: a 39-year-old single, childless woman who is, roughly, making her way in the world, living in what society sees as an unconventional scenario. It takes a child born with an ailment for everyone around her to question what really matters in life.
Beauty and the Beast
In theaters March 17
Emma Watson stars as Belle in the highly anticipated retelling of Disney’s 1991 animated classic Beauty and the Beast. Expect a mix of traditional “tale as old as time” sing-alongs as well as new musical material.
The Zookeeper’s Wife
In theaters March 31
Don’t be fooled by its seemingly cheery, animal-friendly title: Coming from Diane Ackerman’s nonfiction book, The Zookeeper’s Wife takes moviegoers back to September 1939 when Germany invaded Poland. Antonia Zabinski (Jessica Chastain) and her husband Jan (Johan Heldenbergh) risk execution by rescuing Jews living in the Warsaw ghetto and sheltering them at their zoo, saving over 300 lives threatened by the Holocaust.
