At least 147 Stafford and Fredericksburg voters misassigned; ‘Suits’ actress Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are engaged

Northern Virginia’s daily dose of local and national news for Monday, Nov. 27.

The State Board of Elections will certify the House of Delegates results today after initially delaying certification when they found out that at least 147 Stafford and Fredericksburg voters were assigned to vote for the wrong race.

According to a recent announcement by the royal palace, California native and “Suits” actress Meghan Markle got engaged to Prince Harry earlier this month. The two will get married this coming spring and live at Nottingham Cottage at Kensington Palace.

From 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. today, Prince William police will undergo potentially loud training at Nokesville’s Public Safety Academy.

Last week, a measure was passed by the Fairfax County Planning Commission which proposed that over 18 million square feet of vacant office space become available for redevelopment. The Board of Supervisors will consider the proposal on Dec. 5.

The Virginia Department of Transportation already has a snow removal plan in place, details of which were discussed in a recent briefing. Roads will be pretreated with a brine solution three to five days before a storm and 4,500 pieces of equipment are at the ready.
