Wind storm prompts several school closures, causes thousands of power outages in NoVA

Wind gusts, responsible for more than 100,000 Northern Virginia power outages according to Dominion Energy, are expected to reach up to 65 mph throughout the morning on Friday. A wind advisory is in effect through Saturday morning at 6 a.m.

The National Park Service predicts that the cherry blossoms will peak between March 17-20.

A Founding Farmers restaurant at Reston Station will open April 11.

A Lake Braddock Secondary School student, Dylan Fox, has won the national 2017-18 Lights, Camera, Save! video contest’s $5,000 top prize. Fox’s video was titled “Money: it’s Literally Everything.”

Loudoun County Airbnbs may be required to register with the county before allowing guests to stay in their short-term rental spaces. County staff is drafting a potential registration process.
