Fredericksburg City Council approves Potomac Nationals’ move; Cooperative preschools could require more training for parents, teachers

Tuesday, the Fredericksburg City Council approved 7-0 an agreement that will relocate the Potomac Nationals to the area, which would also bring a 5,000-seat stadium that the team hopes will open in April 2020.

The Virginia Department of Social Services is looking into proposed requirements that would force cooperative preschool parents to undergo at least 20 additional hours of training (they are currently required to complete four hours), plus approximately 10 more orientation hours. Tuition costs could also increase should the regulations go into effect.

Tuesday afternoon, two teens were airlifted to the hospital with life-threatening injuries and another transported via ambulance following a car accident on Fairfax Station Road in Clifton. The teens were in a 2005 Jeep that drove off of the road and struck a tree.
