Around 1 a.m. this morning, the first trains on Phase 2 tracks of the Metro Silver Line began initial tests. The trains ran on the newest Silver Line tracks, including through Dulles International Airport. The tracks will be used by riders when the line opens in 2020. (WTOP)
Virginia Lt. Gov. Justin Fairfax has been accused of sexual assault, allegedly taking place 15 years ago. The woman has hired Christine Blasey Ford’s legal team to represent her. Fairfax says the encounter was consensual. (NBC News)
The Loudoun County School Board has opened a secondary school abbreviated rezoning process for the Dulles North attendance zone. Students in planning zones DN45, DN45.2 and DN45.3 will attend Mill Run Elementary in the fall, instead of Moorefield Station. (Loudoun Times-Mirror)
Finn Thai Restaurant and Bar is opening soon in Reston. The restaurant will be located in the North Point Village Center. Although an exact opening date has not been announced, the restaurant is almost finished with the inspections process. (Reston Now)
