As Amazon gets ready to move in, Synetic Theater was preparing to move out … until now.
Originally, the developer of the building, JBG SMITH Properties decided not to renew the theater company’s lease at 1800 S. Bell Street, where is has been since 2010. But, now that’s all changed.
On Feb. 21, JBG announced it has extended Synetic Theater’s lease in National Landing, although Amazon is still planning on using the building as part of its new headquarters.
Under the lease extension, Synetic Theater will continue to occupy the space through late 2022. JBG is also Amazon’s development, retail leasing and property management partner for Amazon HQ2.
