Solar energy company sPower is proposing to build a 500-megawatt project on about 3,500 acres in Northern Virginia. The site would be on land in western Spotsylvania County, and the buyers of the electricity would include Apple, Microsoft, Akami, Etsy and the University of Richmond. (WTOP)
Virginia lawmakers have rejected legislation aimed at keeping drivers off their phones. The House and the Senate passed legislation that would have outlawed hand-held phone use while driving, but the two chambers could not agree on compromise language to get a single bill through both chambers.
