Six Flags has announced a new 2020 ride, “Harley Quinn’s Spinsanity,” a giant pendulum that will spin and swing counterclockwise to up to 147 feet, before diving back down an estimated 15 stories at speeds of up to 70 mph. The ride is themed after the DC Comic villain Harley Quinn and will be the tallest and fastest ride in the DMV area. (WTOP)
Another doughnut shop is closing in Leesburg. Fractured Prune Doughnuts, located in the Village of Leesburg near Cobb Movie Theater, will close its doors on Sept. 1. The franchise storefront was part of the Maryland-based chain and had opened in October 2017. (Loudoun Times-Mirror)
Park View High School in Loudoun County went without a varsity football team last year. But for 2019-2020, the team is making a comeback. Actress Hilarie Burton, best known for starring on One Tree Hill, was a 2000 graduate of the Sterling high school and pledged to pay for any student who wanted to attend football camp. (WTOP)
