This one’s for all the Northern Virginians obsessed with cats. Here, find five upcoming events in the region that are all about the cute, furry friends. Plus, are you interested in taking home a cat soon? Each event also features the chance to meet adoptable cats and kittens.

Mindful Meow Meditation
Friday, Jan. 24, 6-7:30 p.m.
Join the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria and certified LEAP therapist Angie Lord for a mindfulness practice, full of meditation and time with flexible felines. All attendees must bring their own mats. // Animal Welfare League of Alexandria: 4101 Eisenhower Ave., Alexandria; $25

Unleashed by Petco Ballston
Every Saturday, noon-2 p.m.
A regular weekly event, Unleashed by Petco in Ballston is a cat adoption event featuring both cats and kittens of all ages. Adoptable cats are from Homeward Trails, which has volunteers on-site to speak with those interested in adopting a cat. // Petco: 3902 Wilson Blvd., Arlington; free

Kitten Yoga
Wednesday, Jan. 29, 6-8:30 p.m.
Enjoy an all-level yoga practice for ages 10 and up with Beth A Wolfe Yoga. During the yoga class, adoptable kittens from Animal Welfare League of Arlington will prance around. Plenty of time will be allotted for snuggles with the kittens, as well as taking photos for your Instagram feed. Who knows? Reading Tails: Read to Animals at the Fairfax County Animal Shelter
Sunday, Feb. 9, 4-5:30 p.m.
This event’s for your little cat lovers: Reading Tails is a 90-minute event hosted by the Fairfax County Animal Shelter. Kids and their chaperones receive a guided tour of the shelter and then 30 minutes are dedicated for children to read aloud to both shelter cats and dogs. There is a limit of four people per family. Meow DC
Saturday, May 30, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
Tickets are available now for the second annual Meow DC, being held at Dock 5 at DC’s Union Market.
