Ciao Osteria became an instant favorite when it opened in Centreville a handful of years ago. Instant crowds. Instant appeal.
The Neapolitan pizza is soggy in all the right places (that coveted soupy middle) and crusty in all the right places (that chewy, charred crust). The classics are done right, like battered eggplant splayed across tomato-sauced spaghetti and short ribs ground into a ragu and dotted with whole peppercorns. There are composed dishes, too, of salmon with crab and lobster and bitter broccolini and flatbread wrapped around a family of Italian cured meats and cheeses.
Dessert can be found here or next door at the gelato shop. Wherever, it’s the only appropriate way to end a meal.
