Under Armour’s MyFitnessPal app, free for Apple and Android users, has been rated the best free program in overall satisfaction in maintenance, calorie awareness and food variety by Consumer Reports. This fitness app helps with the weight loss and fitness journey by allowing users to log the food they consume and exercise they perform. According to medical studies, keeping a food journal doubles your weight loss. The app contains a food database featuring 5 million grocery items, restaurant menus and delicacies. Once users upload their intake and exercise daily, the app will send notifications to remind users to upload their information. The website allows you to log in and track your intake and exercises from a computer. Another feature the website offers is the community tab, which allows users to introduce themselves and share tips. The community tab has support groups and tips for your specific fitness journey, whether it is losing weight or maintaining weight loss. The inspiration tab on the website shows other users’ progress and how they overcame challenges in their own fitness journey. If MyFitnessPal users purchase the Under Armour HealthBox ($219.99), which includes a scale, a heart rate monitor and a band that tracks sleep, steps and workouts, MyFitnessPal can link to those devices with ease.
