Maybe you’re out shopping or headed to relax with a brew. These may not be the most conventional places to work out, but you might see some taking advantage of the atmosphere for a bit of exercise.

Trails & Ales Running Club

Hosted by the Caboose Brewing Company, the Trails and Ales Running Club meets every Monday at 6:30 p.m. to run or walk the Washington & Old Dominion Railroad Trail. Members meet at the pub before heading toward Hunter Mill.

Summer Bootcamp

Kicking things up a notch is Summer Bootcamp, a high intensity interval training workout routine directed by a professional trainer in Rosslyn’s Gateway Park off Lee Highway. Sessions are held three times a week for four weeks during the month of August.

Mosaic Run Club

The athletic apparel company Lululemon sponsors the Mosaic Run Club, where runners meet at the store’s location in Mosaic for a group jog.

Sunset Rooftop Series

Lululemon Mosaic also hosts the Sunset Rooftop Series. Trainers organize workouts on the top of the Market Garage parking deck in Fairfax with new exercises planned for each week.

Arlington & McLean

Local parks and schools in Arlington and McLean aren’t just hosting children. Body by Ginny founder Ginny Wright and her trainers hold classes six days a week in park lawns and school parking lots year-round.
