Run, eat, drink, repeat. Sound like a typical weekend for you? If you said yes, you’re not the only one—Northern Virginia is consistently ranked as one of the healthiest and fittest regions in the nation, which is why it’s no surprise that the EatingWell & Health Fit Foodie Festival & 5K is making a stop in Fairfax this summer.
Being hosted on Saturday, June 22 at the Old Town Square, the Fit Foodie Festival & 5K is a nationwide event (it’s making stops in Austin, Denver and San Diego, as well) that celebrates the balance of delicious food with an active lifestyle. Participates will run a 5K or 10K race (with bites along the course), receive a watermelon-shaped medal at the finish line and then head to the post-run festival.
The festival features food from local restaurants, a beer and wine garden, mini workout classes, cooking demonstrations and more. Runners will also receive a goody bag with gifts from health and wellness brands, and cash rewards and prize packages will be given to the top finishers.
Runners can save 15% off their registration with the code VACAL. Races not your thing? Don’t worry; you can still join the post-run festival for eating and drinking. For more information, visit fitfoodierun.com/fairfax-virginia. // 10415 N. St., Fairfax; Race begins at 8 a.m.; $35
