Northern Virginia is active.
Arlington resident Michael Wardian ran the entirety of the Capital Beltway last summer in scorching heat. New local gyms are opening across the region nearly every month. And even local seniors are known for their activity levels of pickleball, parkour and for competing in NoVA’s Senior Olympics.
So it should come as no surprise that on Saturday, March 14, from 1 to 4 p.m., local residents can participate in the third annual Del Ray Fit Crawl. This year’s participating studios include Ascend Cycle, Foundation Fitness of Alexandria, Mind the Mat and Studio Body Logic.
After participants choose the order they would like to complete the workouts in, they will partake in four, 30-minute sessions at each location. Ascend Cycle will lead a 30-minute indoor cycling session, Foundation Fitness will host a 30-minute boxing workout, Mind the Mat will feature a 30-minute hot power yoga practice and Studio Body Logic will teach a 30-minute Pilates workout.
Once all participants complete their rounds, much-earned wings and beer will be served at Pork Barrel BBQ to reward all of that sweat. Tickets are $49 per person and are selling out quick, so be sure to book your place if you’re in need of an all-new, challenging weekend workout this month. // Ascend Cycle: 2413 Mount Vernon Ave., Alexandria; $49
