Destination: It’s not often you find yourself mulling over a chandelier purchase while trying on a Rachel Zoe dress, but that is what you’ll find at Swoon. Set in The Village at Leesburg, right next to Frilly Frocks, this destination is perfect for locals and visitors alike who are looking for Georgetown-like shopping closer to home.
Atmosphere: From entrance to exit, co-owners and Leesburg locals Valeri MacIntyre and Jill Etesse treat you like you are entering their home. Jewelry is displayed on purchasable rustic tables, clutches organized in chic trays and blouses folded in a vintage bookcase.
Bread and Butter: As one of the only boutiques in the NoVA area that is exclusive with designers such as Rachel Zoe and Elizabeth & James, you know you are sure to find the latest fashions.
Sweet Surprises: The majority of the display furniture is for sale and from North Carolina. “You come in here thinking you’re just going to shop [for clothes], but you might walk away with a cool crystal paper weight,” MacIntyre says. Clothing brands range from BCBG to Seven for All Mankind—but don’t wait too long—apparel pieces are mainly purchased in quantities of four which allows for a minimum of one of each size.
Fiercest Fan: A typical customer ranges from women in their 20s to 50s, “she’s not a particular size, she just needs to love what she has on,” says Etesse. The owners shop the showrooms like they are the customers looking for those unique one-of-a-kind items.
Blows to the Budget: Clothing can be as low as $18 for a basic tank, but the standard range is between $35 and $450. Clutches, handbags and accessories start as low as $25 and run up to $198. -Christina Marino
