You wake up in the morning to him and co-hosts Kelly Collis and Jen Richer, on 94.7 Fresh FM, and you’ve probably also caught him hosting one of the many events happening around town—he has been dubbed the Ryan Seacrest of D.C. Here he tells us how he indulges in the area.

Favorite NoVA spot for hanging out

Tyson Corner Center. As a matter a fact, we are in the middle of our free concert series with 94.7 Fresh FM where we have free shows all summer long on the plaza featuring artists like Mat Kearney, The Legwarmers, Matt Nathanson, A Great Big World and Ocean Park Standoff.

Style philosophy

The absolute minimum level of dressed up at all times.

NoVA dining spot you can’t get enough of

Jimmy’s Old Town Tavern in Herndon. Mayor Lisa Merkel introduced me to the spot. Such a great vibe, delicious food, incredible people, and Jimmy’s just won an award for corporate citizenship in Herndon because they are the corner of downtown. And Bayou Bakery in Arlington.

Grooming product you can’t live without

Jack Black face scrub. They make me wear makeup on NBC4 Washington, so I have to get it off somehow.

Favorite topic of discussion listeners keep bringing up on the show

Amy Schumer said we can’t use the term “lady boss” anymore and listeners have a lot of opinions on that.

Favorite accessory you can’t stop wearing

My gray John Varvatos boots. I have had them for 10 years and re-soled three times. I had to put running shoe inserts in them.

The one thing you never leave the house without

Other than my house key, my iPhone.
