The ABC7 and WJLA 24/7 anchor shares her go-to items and local spots in the DMV.
If you’ve tuned into ABC7 or WJLA 24/7 News in the last two years, chances are you’ve seen Nancy Chen delivering the latest headlines. Chen reported from Boston, Santa Barbara and Tulsa, Oklahoma before settling into the DC market in 2017.
We visited with her in-studio in Rosslyn and asked her about her style philosophy (“On TV, I tend to go for brighter color with clean lines.”) and her favorite hot spots in Northern Virginia.
“A makeup artist turned me on to the Bobbi Brown University Lip Palette. It’s discontinued, so I buy it on eBay. It’s fantastic for mixing colors to find the perfect shade.”
“For the last two Christmases, I’ve bought identical Kendra Scott bracelets for my very
good friends and co-anchors, Michelle Marshand Alison Starling, and myself. It makes
me happy when I see them wearing it.”
“I bought this Panama hat when I went to Panama last summer because who can go to Panama and not get the hat? Plus, it’s great for hiding a bad hair day!”
“A perfect date night would include Captain Gregory’s in Alexandria, a speakeasy inside Sugar Shack, offering both doughnuts and fantastic drinks—the best combination ever!”
“We adopted a rescue dog last year from Arlington-based Lucky Dog. I love taking Harper on the Mount Vernon Trail for runs. She can keep up for a couple miles!”
“I love finding unique and splashy accessories at Lou Lou Boutique for work and for fun. It’s an easy way to mix up my look.”
“I’ve been using the Shiseido Ultimune Power Infusing Concentrate morning and
night for the past year and I immediately noticed a difference in my skin.”
