Get your shopping bags ready: The 13th annual Summer Sidewalk Sale returns to Middleburg this weekend, from Friday, Aug. 2 to Sunday, Aug. 4.
Shoppers can browse inventory from local businesses brought outdoors to browse, buy and save from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Washington Street, Madison Street and Federal Street. The sale will continue on Saturday, and only certain locations will participate Sunday, as posted.
Local participants include Duchessa (clothing and accessories), Tully Rector (shoes, clothing, accessories and beauty products), The Christmas Sleigh (gifts and collectables), Second Chapter Books (new and used books) and more. Participating retailers will have a colorful balloon outside of the storefront to notify shoppers.
New this year, Emmanuel Episcopal Church will also host a sale featuring new and used items on Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and on Sunday from noon to 4 p.m.
Receipt raffles for gift baskets will be held throughout the town at some locations, and guests can visit the Sonaback information tent at 10 West Washington Street, which will have additional information, interactive games and special giveaways.
The sale also coincides with Virginia’s tax-free weekend, so qualifying clothing, school supplies, emergency preparedness items and energy efficient items will also be available tax-free.
The event is sponsored by Sonabank, the Town of Middleburg and the Middleburg Business and Professional Association. // Middleburg Summer Sidewalk Sale: Multiple locations; Aug. 2-4, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; free
