Step right up Northern Virginia and experience the awe-inspiring acts of the first U.S. water circus, Cirque Italia. The show, Aquatic Spectacular, will return to Potomac Mills in Woodbridge from Thursday, July 28, through Sunday, July 31.
The brainchild of young Italian entrepreneur and Cirque Italia owner Manuel Rebecci, the European-inspired show will feature a variety of dazzling acts performed over an iridescent, 35,000-gallon water stage that will leave your heart pounding and your imagination cartwheeling underneath the big top. “Once the lid lifts up, water falls down from the lid almost like rain,” says Nicole Fusco, Cirque Entertainment’s executive marketing consultant. “At the same time we have fountains going around the water below. It adds a very unique aesthetic to our show.”
During the show, you will witness a father-and-son duo balance head-to-head and foot-to-foot in gravity-defying form, gaze in wonder as a mermaid challenges the flexibility of the human body, laugh out loud as Alex the clown eventually succeeds at his diving board and trampoline tricks and enjoy the vibrant, intriguing colors in the Laserman’s robotic movements.
Cirque Italia will present eight shows while in Woodbridge. Doors open an hour before the show, and each performance is two hours long with a 15-minute intermission. During the break, audience members are welcome to take pictures with the performers and sample authentic Italian food made by the former chef of the Vatican. Ticket prices range from $10 to $50 depending on your chosen seats in the intimate theater. Tickets can be bought online, over the phone at 941-704-8572 or in person. Parking will cost $3 to $5.
