While Fallingwater may get all the attention, Frank Lloyd Wright’s Pope-Leighey House at Woodlawn is our local gem, and this year marks the 150th birthday of the renowned architect with events planned at the Alexandria location throughout the summer. On July 12 the Picnic Theater Company will present their version of Noel Coward’s Hay Fever as patrons picnic on the lawn. On Aug. 27 the property hosts a midcentury-style Back to School picnic on the grounds.
