Sweets, sips and such
My significant other lives a 24-hour drive away—yay long distance relationships—but I’m not letting that get me down this week. On Valentine’s Day and again this weekend, Breaux Vineyards is hosting a Chocolate and Cabernet Tasting featuring sparkling wine, four Cabernet samples and an assortment of imported chocolates and truffles. For those last-minute planners out there, check out our listing of other Valentine’s Day events–RK

I rarely get those opportunities, and even when I do, I find myself stressed out because I think of things I should be doing and, at the same time, try to force myself to do nothing. This weekend I’m indulging in our own advice for surviving a winter weekend. And while I won’t be reading B-list celebrity memoirs, I will be tackling a slew of novels written by local authors that will soon be featured in our Bookshelf column–LN
