Fall festivals can fill your calendar every year in NoVA, and this one is no exception.
In its 27th year, the Fall For Fairfax KidsFest is returning to the grounds of the Fairfax County Government Center with a celebration designed for the little ones in your family.
On Oct. 5 and 6 (opening at 10 a.m. each day), find exciting, interactive games and activities for your children to enjoy, specially designed with pre-kindergarten through elementary-aged kids in mind.
This year’s celebration includes two stages offering free entertainment throughout the weekend, as well as scarecrow making, pumpkin painting, pumpkin bowling, public safety and recycling-themed exhibits, pony rides and a petting zoo, model trains, over 75 vendor tables, and lots and lots of kid-friendly rides in the KidWay MidWay area.
Admission is free but some activities require an additional fee. Advance-purchase tickets are available through Oct. 2. Tax-deductible donations of clothing for the scarecrow-decorating activity are still needed. Donate your unwanted clothing at the Scarecrow Program Area or Information Tent at the festival. // Fairfax County Government Center: 12000 Government Center Parkway, Fairfax; free, additional fees may apply
