The Washington & Old Dominion Trail may only be 100 feet wide, but it reaches from the urban areas of the east 44 miles to the rural fields of the west, and there is more to this trail than its path that is mainly used for walking, running, cycling, roller skating and, in some parts, horseback riding. Many businesses have popped up along the route. There’s a slew of bars and breweries (New District Brewing Company, Arlington; Spacebar, Falls Church; Aslin Beer Company, Herndon; Old Ox Brewery, Ashburn) and dining options as well: Carolina Brothers BBQ, Ashburn; Magnolia’s at the Mill, Purcellville; and any of the many restaurants in city centers like Vienna and Shirlington.
